From the recording For My Cin
This song is about when my wife and I went to our condo on lake Winnipesaukee in NH. This was a week before she passed away. It was a beautiful sunny day I was having coffee on the deck and Cindy came out and said “ I want to go on the wave runner?”. I said “really” she said “yes we are going” so we did. Then a week later my best friend said goodbye.

VERSE 1
The sun was shining
in our eyes
She said to me
I want to go
I want to go for a ride
VERSE 2
I looked into her eyes
do you really think we should?
She said I want to go
I want to go
I want to go for a ride
And I won’t take no
I want to go for a ride
Chorus 1
Her heart wouldn’t stop
but her body was letting go
Then she looked at me
her eyes told me so
It was then I knew
this would be our last time
That we ride the waves
and she would be mine
We were losing time
it was our last ride
We were losing time
it was our last ride
VERSE 3
She turned around Long Island
between Sandy Bay
Headed for Ragged Island
I want to go
I want to go for a ride
And I won’t take no
I want to go for a ride
Chorus 2
Her heart wouldn’t stop
but her body was letting go
Then she looked at me
her eyes told me so
It was then I knew
this would be our last time
That we ride the waves
and she would be mine

VERSE OUT 1
It was then when you looked down to see
and said thank you dear
for taking care of me
I could tell by the tear in her eye
she was saying
she was saying goodbye
VERSE OUT 2
My son he was the strongest of us all
did not let go
until the final call
VERSE OUT 3
My daughter turned and said mum
you can let it go
That’s the moment
her body lost its soul
